Despite being the firstborn son, Francis Russell has been isolated from society: first, because he was sickly; then, because his father was ashamed of him; and then, during the self-imposed exile to European sanatoria and art museums. After his father’s unexpected death, he returned to London a few months ago to assume the title of the Duke of Bedford.
